Fisherman’s Dilema

I see it dying a slow death,
Suffocated gasping for breath,
For once I want it to be free,
Unshackle and let it flee,
The unfathomable pain of denial,
and the faith in life perennial,
Is a myth guarded by arrogance,
Demonstrates willful ignorance.
But then can I decide,
How long shall it reside,
For I did not chose its voyage,
Neither did I its silent gaze,
I need to be still,
Wait for its kill,
And someday I too shall be there,
Perhaps someone else shall just stare.
