Fracture

How do I end something which never was there?
What do I say when so much is evident,
The lonely moments that we share,
And the lives incoherent.

Hear the footsteps drifting away,
The silent screams to be set free,
Amidst the forced attempts to stay,
Are countless wishes to flee.

We hang on yet another time,
But our presence as absence,
Oft feels like a crime,
Committed in innocence.

Not one of us should take the blame,
At least we did try,
But how now do we be the same,
To ourselves how do we lie.

Is it not time to choose happiness?
Write a story on a new page,
Look beyond this life of loneliness,
Or do we just let this age.
